Company History

It became unquestionable that John T. Maclin’s revelation and passion was to work with individuals who struggle with Substance Use and Substance Use Disorders. After receiving his license from the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy in March of 2005, John began working in various Rule 31 Outpatient Treatment Programs. John was able to artistically expose his genuine aspirations in counseling. His responsibilities now consisted of facilitating groups and group therapies, treatment planning and referrals. In March of 2005 John T. Maclin founded True Foundation, LLC.

In 2005 True Foundation only offered assessments and sober housing for men.  After founding True Foundation, LLC, John continued to provide services to various agencies as a License Alcohol Drug Counselor (LADC) and as a professional consultant.   By January 2008 True Foundation established Headquarters in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.  Soon after establishing their headquarters, they became a Rule 31 licensed facility in 2009 providing education, treatment, therapy, assessments, and sober housing.   True Foundation continued to provide education and assessment services and added Driving With Care (DWC) Services in 2012.

In 2014, True Foundation became Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP) working under the regulations of the Department of Transportation (DOT).  Within the same year additional services was introduced.  Several service agreements with national and local Employment Assistance Programs (EAP) were established to successfully return professionals to Duty.   Presently, True Foundation launches their newest venture, True Teen.  True Teen focuses on prevention and intervention to assist youth and their families with reducing and minimizing risk factors of substance use.
