John Maclin set out on a journey to help individuals struggling with substance use and in 1995 he enrolled into Minneapolis Community & Technical College and graduated in May of 1998 with his degree in CD Counseling. He provided contracting services for several prominent companies such as Arrigoni, Inc, West Metro Recovery Services, River Place in Anoka, Lifestyles in Bloomington, and Christian Restoration Services in North Minneapolis. September of 2012 John assumed the role of chemical health specialist for teens at risk for substance use and self defeating behaviors. In 2012 to 2016, John was certified as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and Employment Assistance Professional ( EAP) working independently to provide services for individuals and various agencies locally and nationally. John provides recovery related presentations, is a preferred trainer for Employers, and his latest addition to True Foundation Counseling Services is True Teen.
Nikisha Simmons-Maclin embarked on her journey at California State University of Long Beach when she began studying Political Science in 1997. During the fall session in 1999 Nikisha had the opportunity to work for Wilhelmina Models in New York, and from 1999 until 2009, life presented her with the opportunity to be groomed in the various aspects of business. Inspired, encouraged, and motivated by her husband’s testimony, Nikisha allowed her husband to sow his vision into her as she furthered her education it became more apparent that her call was to help people. In 2009 Nikisha became the Office Manager for True Foundation Counseling Services. Nikisha graduated in the spring of 2012 from Minneapolis Community Technical College (MCTC) with her Associates of Science in Addiction Counseling and Associates of Science in Criminal Justice, she completed her Bachelors of Science in Human Services at Metropolitan State University of St. Paul in the spring of 2013, and was license by the Minnesota Board of Behavior Health in May 2015.
